Getting in touch with the right editors is quite simple. However, the process for sending payment to the freelancer after finishing the project could be a bit clearer. Honestly, I'm still unsure about how to handle it, and I'm just waiting for my freelancer to guide me. Clearly, I shouldn't be in this position.

I used to be pretty active on Kolabtree, but that’s changed over time. My reviews are all 5-star, so it’s not about my performance. The problem is that most of the potential clients I run into are just a headache. Some are downright creepy, self-absorbed, or simply rude while whining about how other contractors vanish or don’t treat them well... yet they totally disrespect me, a contractor who’s been nothing but thorough, hardworking, and reliable on all my projects. Folks often try to score free services, haggle the price down after I’ve done the work to their liking, say they want to follow up with product questions, and then ask me to draft up questionnaires or forms over the weekend, only to ghost me afterward. Every time I think about checking in for a bit of extra cash, I end up regretting it.

I’m really pleased to have come across Kolabtree. It fulfilled my requirements, allowing me to wrap up my project.

Getting in touch on Kolabtree is super simple, and it's pretty user-friendly too. I just wish I could be sure that the person I'm chatting with is legit and not some scammer. I get that this feature isn't available yet for a startup, but it should definitely be on the radar for future updates.

Being a freelancer on this platform, I find that everything operates quite seamlessly: from negotiating various projects to receiving the final payment.

However, one downside I’ve noticed is the fees, which usually take a hefty 20% cut from the total project amount on the freelancer's end. It might be better if the costs were split between contractors and freelancers. This way, everyone knows what to expect in terms of fees, and project offers could reflect a more realistic price range.

I’m really thankful Kolabtree is here! I know I could’ve figured out how to annotate my sequence, but it definitely would’ve taken me way longer than the freelancer I brought on board. It was easy to find skilled freelancers, the site offered a safe space for our chats, and depositing funds and paying the freelancer was a breeze.
